Ikea metal bunk bed is light and come in many colors and styles. You can make traditional twin-over-twin metal bunk beds if you have basic tools and about a day to devote to the project.
Buy pre-cut metal, or cut them yourself. Drill screw holes in the metal at appropriate locations. Construct the bed in the bedroom so you don’t have to move it after you build it. Place a 41 1/2-inch metal bar at each end of two 78-inch bars. Screw these together to create a frame rectangle bed. Screw the elastic bottoms lengthwise inside the rectangular metal bunk bed frame 4 inches from each end two supports in the middle of the frame for extra support. Repeat this step to make the second rectangle double bed frame. Highlight four corner bed frames of 12 inches for lower bed and 48 inches up from the bottom for overlapping. Use measuring tape to make sure everything is smooth.
Connect the 49 3/4-inch bed rests to the metal bed frames in the corner of the brands with the transport elastic neck bolts. Insert the bolt into pre-drilled holes. Turn the nut on the bolt and hold the nut in place with the pliers channel lock while tightening the bolt with a wrench. Prepare to attach guardrails to the upper leg by marking the corner posts at 55 3/4 inches and 61 05/03 inches. Attach the guard rails to each corner post end. Make sure the guardrail is at least 5 inches above the safety mattress, but also see any opening in the bunk beds is small enough to avoid body parts from slipping through.
